What is Shape of Dreams?

Shape of Dreams is a PvE action roguelite developed by Lizard Smoothie and published by NEOWIZ. It brings precise skill shots, fast-paced combat, and MOBA-inspired team coordination into changing dream worlds, with solo play and online co-op for up to four players.

Memories provide combat abilities, while Essences reshape how those abilities work. Permanent Traveler progression gives you new options between runs, and The Starless Path expands the adventure with Cetus, The Way of Stars, and a new ending.

  • Lacerta: Hand Cannon

    Barasus's Fury adds guaranteed knockback, while Dirty Gunpowder enlarges the blast and slows enemies.

Learn the combat and loadout basics before your first serious push through the Rapids. Follow a practical starting sequence that covers dodging, ability customization, and progress that survives a failed run.

    Choose an available Traveler and review the active Traveler Memory and passive Identity Memory that define the starting loadout.

Explore a combined pool of more than 200 Memories and Essences. Understand active abilities, passive Identity Memories, and socketed modifiers before choosing your next upgrade.

  • Memories

    Memories supply the abilities used in your build; the Traveler Memory is a character-specific active skill.

  • Essences

    Essences fit into Memories and can add effects such as chaining attacks or reducing cooldowns when hits land.

  • Identity Memories

    An Identity Memory supplies a passive trait rather than an activated combat skill.

  • 6 Shared Identities

    The Starless Path adds six shared Identity Memories that can replace a Traveler's usual passive.

Shape of Dreams Co-op & Cross-Play

Set up an online party of up to four and play with friends across supported platforms. Check lobby settings and PC mod restrictions before troubleshooting a failed connection.

    Complete the game solo or join a four-player online party with complementary Traveler builds.

  • Cross-Platform Lobbies

    PC and console players can share lobbies when cross-play is enabled.

  • Matching Settings

    Party members need matching Cross-Play settings; Steam invitations do not bypass a settings mismatch.

  • PC Mod Restrictions

    Enabled PC mods restrict console cross-play, so disable mods before joining a cross-platform group.

Shape of Dreams Bosses & Rewards

Prepare for major encounters and identify boss rewards that can change your run. Check special fight conditions, summon interactions, and the skills recovered after defeating the Starving Beast.

  • Starving Beast

    Returned skills have a minimum level of their level when destroyed plus 3; the boss also has a Unique Memory and Banner.

  • Guardian Twins

    Defeating both simultaneously completes the Balance Forever Lost achievement.

  • The Master of Dream

    After Chain Lightning hits a summon, its next chain target prioritizes summons too.

  • Heroic Boss Rewards

    Heroic Bosses can award Unique Memories or Essences, with eight such acquisitions required for The Eighth Trophy achievement.

Is Shape of Dreams co-op?

Yes. Shape of Dreams supports single-player and online co-op for up to four players. Each player controls their own Traveler and brings their own Memories and Essences into the run, so party members can combine complementary abilities.

Does Shape of Dreams have cross-play?

The game supports online co-op across its released platforms, and the September 2026 hotfix specifically addressed co-op connection and cross-platform settings. Check the Platforms category for crossplay setup steps and current notes.

How many Travelers are in Shape of Dreams?

There are nine playable Travelers as of The Starless Path update, including Cetus, the frost-themed ranged tank. Each Traveler has different stats, abilities and unlock requirements.

What is The Starless Path update?

The Starless Path is the anniversary update released on 17 September 2026 alongside the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. It adds the Traveler Cetus, the Way of Stars progression path and a new ending.

Are there Shape of Dreams codes?
